Lisbon, Portugal—The leaders of UPF and an affiliated organization joined officials of an international Lusophone organization in a meeting with members of parliament.

The national presidents of UPF and Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) accompanied Professor Alberto Araújo, an Ambassador for Peace and the president of PISCDIL (Plataforma Internacional da Sociedade Civil da Diáspora Lusófona), and the PISCDIL board. On February 18, 2020, the group met with a representative of the speaker of parliament, who is the president of the parliamentary delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP).

The PISCDIL delegation explained how their organization has been working with the Portuguese-speaking diaspora since 2010 (in East Timor) and since 2013 (in all other Lusophone communities).

Emphasizing the project "Training for Leadership of the Nation and Citizenship," the PISCDIL delegation asked for support from this state institution, both at the Portuguese national level and in the Lusophone worldwide dimension.
