Gratitude Towards Teachers – Every Student’s Second Parents
On 11 June 2025, the Dibër Peace Council joined the Alush Bunguri schools in celebrating their Ninety-Fifth anniversary in the towns of Grevë and Peshkopia (Dibër), situated in the counties of Berat and Dibër respectively. The event was held in Dibër, on the premises of the newly renovated town school.
Around one hundred and twenty guests attended the festivity which was quite moving and joyful. Among them were local leaders, renowned city figures, Ambassadors for Peace, outstanding alumni, teachers, and students.
The contribution of teachers over the years was acknowledged; high-achieving students were awarded certificates of recognition; all those who donated towards the restoration of the school were honoured as were the donors who helped supply the school with the necessary books, tools, and sporting equipment.
The event was moderated simultaneously by Mr. Defrim Methasani, Chairman of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF-Albania), and one of the donors of the school’s sports gear. The opening speech was given by the school Principal, Mrs. Fida Shkëlqime. Students presented an impressive artistic programme comprising poetry, song and dance.

- Mr. Korab Kika - Vice-Chairman of the Regional Peace Council Dibër
- Mr. Gani Rroshi - Secretary General of the Universal Peace Federation - Albania
In honour of the occasion, twelve personalities from Grevë and Dibër were presented with the Ambassador for Peace Award.
The celebrations concluded with a volleyball match played by the school students using new sporting equipment. An ending brimming with fun and smiles, that brought a feeling of well- being to all those present.
