On 2nd October, 2024, concurrent with the celebration of the International Day of Peace, the Tropoja Peace Council held its Assembly of Peace Ambassadors in the museum of the beautiful city of Tropoja. Close to forty-five Ambassadors for Peace attended as well as other special guests.
Moderated by Mrs. Feride Rahmanaj, Chairperson of the Tropoja Peace Council, she also gave the opening speech. Guests of honour were: Mr. Jacques Marion, Regional Chairman of the Universal Peace Federation for Europe and the Middle East; Mr. Jack Corley, Chairman of the Universal Peace Federation for Eastern Europe; and Mr. Abdulla Domi, Chairman of the Regional Peace Council for the Kuka district and Vice-President of the Universal Peace Federation for Albania. All gave a warm and meaningful greeting speech.
An important part of the assembly was the honouring with the title "Ambassador for Peace" certain respected figures of the city of Tropoja. The candidates for the award were especially chosen for their contributary work in fields in which they had been investing everything of themselves for years. Following the rousing award giving ceremony elections for the new board of the Tropoje Peace Council were held. After the incumbents were thanked and gratefully acknowledged for all their work during their term, voting for the new board for the 2024-2028 term was held. The result, which was unanimous, is as follows:
