Bromley, United Kingdom—UPF of the United Kingdom has inaugurated a local branch in the Bromley region of Southeast London.

Thirty-five UPF supporters gathered in the Livingstone House conference center on Sunday, November 26, 2017, to launch UPF in the Bromley region, which includes the boroughs of Lewisham, Bexley and Greenwich, with more than 1 million residents.

In Bromley alone there are over 500 active charities and voluntary organizations: UPF’s task is to discover what could be our unique contribution to this community.

After a video introduction to UPF was shown, Mr. Keith Best, QC (Queen’s Counsel) and a former member of Parliament, gave the main speech to encourage us to forge a new path and spread the UPF vision in our community.

Mr. Robin Marsh, UPF-UK secretary general, then described the work of UPF-UK and its spiritual principles. After a musical interlude in which Mrs. Linda Brann played a rousing Chopin composition on piano, the audience formed small groups to engage in a broad-ranging and dynamic discussion of the role UPF could play in the local community.

The main issues highlighted were the importance of interfaith understanding, promoting marriage and family, overcoming the culture of fear of speaking out, and educating our young people on these points through the five principles of UPF. As the meeting closed, it was announced that details of further programs would be made public soon.
