Sochi, Russia—UPF was a main partner in the 1st Congress of the International Peoples’ Alliance of the World (IPAOW).
The congress was held on November 8-9, 2020, in the Black Sea city of Sochi. Its main goal was to develop peoples' solidarity for stable coexistence, under the motto "In the unity of peoples is the future of the planet."
Congress participants came from 68 countries and included representatives of religious confessions, government and public figures.
One of the main partners was the Universal Peace Federation. Dmitry Samko, president of UPF-Moscow, spoke at the opening of the congress. As part of the event, Mr. Samko also awarded Ambassador for Peace certificates to several high-ranking delegates and introduced UPF activities around the world.
Transportation and other expenses for UPF participation at the congress were fully covered by the organizers.
