Larnaca, Cyprus—UPF convened the conference, “Syria: Opening Lines of Communication and Soft Power Approaches to Peace,” in Cyprus from December 17 to 19, 2016.

Women's initiatives for peace and reconciliation in Cyprus are quite important, and one could say that they resemble the pieces of art on the island, which although they cannot work for peace, they speak silently about the peaceful coexistence which has been a noble tradition over the centuries.

Thessaloniki, Greece- The Women's Federation for World Peace International and its Japanese chapter organized the 15^th Conference for Peace in the Middle East in Thessaloniki, Greece from May 24 to 27. Forty women from 20 countries of the Middle East, Europe, and the Far East gathered to discuss the theme "Women in War and Reconstruction."

The Universal Peace Federation convened its first International Leadership Conference (ILC) for the Middle East region on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus May 23-25, 2008. Forty Ambassadors for Peace – new and old – gathered from 11 nations in the region for a special program that combined UPF presentations with active involvement through panel discussions and breakout sessions.

Musical Ambassadors for Peace, David Eaton, David D’Or and Seiko Lee have been invited to participate the annual summer EDAS Performing Arts Workshop for dancers, musicians, and singers in Cyprus in July 2008. Inspired by the trio’s peace advocacy, EDAS Director, Nili Glazer has adopted the theme “Creating Peace Through Arts” for this year’s workshop.
