Lyubertsy, Russia—UPF-Moscow co-sponsored a local football tournament that attracted 60 participants.

The “Play Football for Peace” tournament was held on May 14, 2022, for residents of the Samolet (“Airplane”) micro-district of the city of Lyubertsy outside Moscow.

Dmitry Samko, the head of UPF-Moscow, organized the tournament with the support of the local sports committee and sponsorship of local business representatives.

Five teams engaged in a serious but friendly competition for the championship cup. Symbolically, the team with the name “Airplane” won, the friendly team of the “Technical” team was second, and the bronze went to the “Temp” team.

It is noteworthy that most of the tournament participants regularly play in the yard, popularizing a healthy lifestyle and neighborliness. And the recognizable brand of the “Play Football for Peace” project unites residents of different nationalities and social groups, serving as a vivid example for the younger generation.

Such tournaments attract whole families as fans and create a very peaceful and friendly atmosphere.
