Tirana, Albania—UPF’s Tirana Peace Council organized a celebration in honor of the 15th anniversary of Kosovo's independence.
Over 170 distinguished persons from Albania and Kosovo attended "Kosovo's Independence – Contribution to Security in the Balkans" on February 18, 2023, at the Tirana Peace Embassy.
The guests included Ambassadors for Peace and friends of UPF. Dëfrim Methasani, a well-known sports journalist and chairman of the Tirana Peace Council, was the moderator.
The event was honored by the participation of Kosovo’s ambassador to Albania, H.E. Skënder Durmishi, who offered words of greeting. Abdullah Domi, the vice chairman of UPF-Albania, welcomed the audience on behalf of the UPF-Albania Board.
Professor Dr. Eralda Çani, a former Albanian minister of integration, and Alketa Gashi, a journalist and moderator of Kosovo’s public television channel RTK, also offered noteworthy messages.
The well-known actor Xhavit Limani, singer Lirie Rasha, violinist Roni Dedic, and dance group Trad Folk Tirana performed for the gathering.
After a talk on UPF activities by the UPF-Albania secretary general, 12 respected personalities were honored with the title of Ambassador for Peace.
