Rome, Italy—"Restorative Justice” was the theme of the third meeting of UPF-Italy Think Tank.

The speaker at the meeting, held online on August 26, 2022, was a UPF Ambassador for Peace, Professor Giovanni Lodigiani, a Catholic priest and a professor of restorative justice and criminal mediation at the University of Insubria in the northern city of Como.

"Restorative justice is an approach consisting of viewing crime primarily in terms of personal harm,” Professor Lodigiani said. “From this follows the possibility for the offender to redress the harmful consequences of his or her conduct."

A group of 12 scholars attended the webinar. Following Professor Lodigiani’s talk, a debate was opened among all the participants.
