Lyon, France—Leaders of local NGOs met at the Espace Culture et Paix (Culture and Peace Space) to celebrate this year’s International Day of Peace.

Mr. Jean-Paul Chaudy, president of the local Ambassadors for Peace association, outlined the five core values of Ambassadors for Peace.

Mr. Christopher Kamamba of the Espace Culture et Paix gave a presentation on the Peace Road project.

Mr. Jacques Lyant, the secretary of ANAN (Association of Nigeriens and Friends of Niger) and a member of the AFRICA 50 investment fund, was awarded an Ambassador for Peace certificate on this occasion.

Mr. Lyant, who has worked for 34 years in Africa in the fields of education and conciliation, spoke about the life of the nomadic Fula people of western and central Africa. He currently is preparing to go to Colombia to attend an event celebrating French and Colombian ties.
