The International Association of Youth and Students for Peace was founded in 2017 to fulfill Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s vision to raise the next generation of global leaders who would build a world of peace. In over a hundred countries around the world youth and students are actively taking part in key activities presented by the UN under its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as relief and service projects, pure love movements, family restoration movements, and character education.
More than five thousand young people from all over the world gathered to reignite the fire to achieve genuine peace and a longing for a peaceful reunification on the Korean peninsula under the theme, “The Role of Young People in Creating a World of Interdependence, Mutual Prosperity, and Universal Values”.
Mr. Koji Matsuda, international president of IAYSP, gave the welcome address for the IAYSP Assembly, which included presentations on Interdependence and Environmental Issues by Hon. Anote Tong, former president of Kiribati; Mutual Prosperity, Disaster Relief and Educational Support by Dr. Subash Jaha, professor, Kathmandu University Hospital, Nepal; and Universal Values, the Decline of Morality of Youth and the Importance of Education by Dr. Sakena Yacoobi, founder and executive director of the Afghan Institute of Learning.
