I think that the world has not seen the realization of this idea. Nowadays in some countries there is some talk about similar ideas, only using modern liberalist idea packaging.
In a family, everyone should have equal opportunities. In a country, there are different regions with different levels of well-being. Each one tries to maintain an equal level of security and well-being in all regions. Not all of them succeed in this and usually, if they do, only partially.
In the EU. The level of well-being in different countries is significantly different. The EU allocates funds and carries out activities in an attempt to decrease the differences of well-being in the different regions and countries. Are the results good enough? No, but we are going in the right direction. It’s a work in progress. The levels of security in all EU countries are similar.
The term “refugees” needs to be clarified. There are immigrants, who are looking for a better life, well-being and security. That’s natural and understandable, but it’s each country’s decision to accept or not immigrants from outside the EU. Of course, there will be refugees if a country becomes occupied, as was the case during World War II.
Nowadays to occupy independent UN recognized countries should not be allowed. Nevertheless, some territories are being occupied and therefore there are refugees. However, while at least a part of the country remains unoccupied, the refugees from the occupied part would be expected to move to the unoccupied part.
It’s more difficult when there is a violent change of the power in a country. It’s only logical that the citizens are the ones who should decide their country’s destiny. This means that, first of all, outside interventions need to be minimized. People who don’t want to resolve their country’s issues, but instead choose to move to a different country, are immigrants, not refugees.
In conclusion, can we achieve the same level of well-being worldwide? No. That’s the answer to the realization of the politics of accepting the immigrants. Can we make sure that the level of security is the same in the world? No. But we need to do as much as we can, starting from the basics – preserving human life. Yes.
This would be one of the main tasks for the UN. The member states would need to agree on the procedures and resources. For example, if such an agreement were reached, NATO Forces could carry out UN tasks that require structural power and strength. This would silence the military conflicts and establish peace in different regions of the world.
