“Love God, Love People, Love Nation” – National Seminar for Ambassadors for Peace
From 19th to 21st December 2025, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), in partnership with the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), an affiliated organisation, successfully held in Struga, North Macedonia, a seminar for Ambassadors for Peace, on the theme “Love God, Love People, Love Nation”. The meeting brought together around seventy leaders of Peace Councils, members of the Peace Federation Steering Committee, and Ambassadors for Peace from Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia. Throughout the three days of the event, the atmosphere was warm and familiar, where everyone felt at home, amongst brothers and sisters, united by common values and the goal of contributing to building peace, starting from oneself and one’s family.
The modern and quiet surroundings together with the kind and hospitable staff of the Ëmbla hotel, located on the lakeside, helped to generate an embracing and festive atmosphere. The symposium was much more than a training or educational activity; it was a beautiful human and spiritual experience, a space for reflection, collaboration and exchange of knowledge and values, where everyone felt appreciated, welcomed, and respected.
An introduction of UPF’s philosophy, the Fundamental Principles of Peace, was presented, followed by a discussion on the importance of applying these Principles in the current times.
The morning meditation was especially welcomed. Other parts of the programme that touched everyone were the festive evenings with music, songs and dances, and beautiful surprises the organisers had prepared for all participants.
An important and emotional part of the event was the awarding of the Ambassador for Peace title by UPF President, Mr. Defrim Methasani. The recipient was Mr. Mendi Qyra, Mayor of Struga Municipality. He was being honoured for his work in serving the community and people in need; his devotion to sports, especially in football, where he helped the team he founded, FC Struga, win the North Macedonia Football League Championship twice; and other good deeds.
On the second evening, more personalities were awarded the Ambassador for Peace titles. The nine candidates were also active participants in the seminar.
For those who were not inhabitants of Struga, a tour was organised to visit the picturesque city of Ohrid, where they enjoyed its natural and cultural beauty.
The meeting ended on a very positive note with the mutual belief that peace is not just a concept, but a daily commitment that starts with oneself, family and community. When
you manage to include and love God in everything that you do in your daily life, starting with the smallest things, it is easy to love people and take care of them. On this foundation, a sense of obligation grows to do the best for the nation and to take responsibility for it.
In addition to the new friendships built among the participants, the seminar generated inspiration and motivation to continue the mission for peace with greater dedication.
