On November 22, 2025, UPF Hungary celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Benczúr Hotel in Budapest during its fall Peace Ambassador Forum, whose theme was "20 Years in the Service of Peace." The patron of the evening was Kamilla Dévai Nagy (Liszt Prize-winning performer, guitarist-singer, Ambassador for Peace), and her students from the “Chronicle Music School” opened the event, creating a special atmosphere in the hall with their music. In addition to the songs, she shared the profound experiences she had gained throughout her life while serving others.
The musical program was followed by a report from Jacques Marion, President of UPF Europe and Middle East, who outlined UPF's goals and the major events and achievements of the past 20 years. In his speech, he touched on the cooperation between UPF and the United Nations. Following the report, Gábor Albert-Tóth, president of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) Hungary, an affiliated organization, spoke about the life of UPF Founder Dr. Sun Myung Moon and his role in peacemaking, after which we placed flowers of remembrance in front of his picture. We also commemorated the Ambassadors of Peace who passed away in 2025.
After the break, Prof. Dr. Judit Balázs (economist, geopolitical expert, Ambassador for Peace) shared her thoughts on the necessity of peace research, and Dr. Péter Mészáros (adjunct professor, environmentalist, Ambassador for Peace) spoke about his experiences from more than 20 years as a peace ambassador. The program was enlivened by an interactive question-and-answer session on peace, giving participants the opportunity to express their opinions.
At the end of the evening, the new Ambassadors for Peace received their appointments from Mr. Jacques Marion and Mrs. Erzsébet Sturmné Tomka, president of UPF Hungary, increasing the number of Ambassadors for Peace by four. Mrs. Tomka thanked both the Ambassadors for Peace and UPF members for their work over the past 20 years and presented them with certificates of appreciation as a token of gratitude.
The event took place in a special atmosphere, providing an opportunity for the Ambassadors for Peace, guests, and UPF members to get to know each other and build personal relationships for future joint work.
