First UPF regional meeting of South Hungary Region
October 7.
On 7 October, the South Hungary region held its very first local meeting in Pécs, entitled “Alternative Ways Towards Peace”. We discussed the vision of UPF founders, Rev. And Mrs. Moon, One Family under God, in a very familiar atmosphere with Ambassadors for Peace from two cities, Pécs and Kaposvár. The goal of this first regional meeting, to expand UPF Hungary’s foundation beyond Budapest, was met; participants were brought closer together and expressed a desire to support each other's activities.
UPF event “Bridge between Hungary and Korea”
October 22.
The former President of the Hungary-Korea Association, Dr. Andrea Szeghő delivered a very inspiring presentaion entitled “Bridge between Hungary and Korea” to an audience of 28. She detailed the considerable work done by the association in building cultural and public sector bridges between the two nations. After the lectures, some young people brought the heart and culture to the audience by inspiring the other participants to sing the well known Korean song, Arirang. The topic and lecture were greatly appreciated by the audience who continued discussion over treats and refreshments. We hope to be able to present more events pertaining to the peaceful reunification of the two Koreas.

Meeting with Ambassadors for Peace
October 28.
UPF Hungary president, Erzsébet Sturmné Tomka and her husband were invited to visit the founders of the "Dream Valley" meditation center in Piliscsaba, Béla Balogh and his spouse Mónika Arató. The couple were appointed as Ambassadors of Peace this spring and had expressed their desire to work with us. Béla Balogh is the author of several books which propose the combination of spirituality and science as the way to a healthy life. Weekend spiritual retreats and healing work are offered at the meditation centre. The healing work has been recognised by a leading Hungarian professor of oncology, and the successes published in a scientific medical journal. What Béla Balogh teaches is very much in line with the principles of UPF and we are looking forward to ongoing cooperation with this couple.
