Mrs. Kathy Rigney, Chair, UPF-Africa Mrs. Kathy Rigney serves as the Chair of UPF-Africa. She was sent by Rev. Sun Myung Moon to West Africa in 1975 and has devoted most of her life since then to the people of Africa. Her prime activity is to teach the peacebuilding principles of UPF, and offer a new vision for peace and human development. She received an honorary doctorate degree from the New Covenant International University and Theological Seminary, USA honoring her work for a culture of peace, universal values, character education, and service to humanity. |

Honorable participants to the ISCP Session of the ILC 2020 Webinar
It is with a feeling of gratitude that I would like to conclude this ISCP Webinar session.
I would like to thank all the panelists here present, Your Excellences, for having been able to address in a valuable way the problems linked to the current global crisis through the theme “A New Paradigm for International Relations in the Post Covid Era”.
As Heads of State and Government as well as Ambassadors for Peace, you have shown the way forward to building a peaceful and unified world centered on a specific criterion by working together in the International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP) of which you are the pioneers.
Indeed, the International Summit Council for Peace (ISCP), initiated by UPF co-founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon on February 8, 2019 at the occasion of the World Summit 2019 in Seoul, Korea, is an international network of current and former heads of state and government, who, through dialogue and collaboration, explore solutions and offer recommendations to address the world’s critical problems, including climate change and environmental issues, religious conflicts, poverty, war, corruption and family breakdown.
As you all know, we live in an interdependent world. No nation and no government exists in isolation. Many of our most difficult problems—terrorism, cyber-crime, climate change, poverty, inequality, food insecurity, conflict—are transnational in nature. We must work together collaboratively in order to resolve global, regional and national problems. Moreover, in order to carry out a comprehensive approach to peace and development, we must work across various sectors of society, including government, civil society, faith-based organizations, academia and the private sector.
The ISCP provides a meeting place for world leaders where their wisdom and experience can be utilized and their initiatives can be discussed in the service of global peace and the betterment of humankind. For that reason, the International Summit Council for Peace is committed to building a world of peace in which everyone can live in freedom, harmony, cooperation and prosperity. ISCP upholds the core principles of interdependence, mutual prosperity, and universal values, and acts as a facilitator and advisor for the achievement of peace and development.
This is why it is imperative that a new moral, ethical and spiritual order be central to the issues and state initiatives in order to give hope to this world. Hence the need for a new paradigm for international relations in the post-Covid era.
To conclude I would like to share the content of the declaration made by the True Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, at the last Rally of Hope in front of many Heads of State and Heads of Government as well as in front of many world leaders: I quote: ‘’ If Heavenly Parent is at the center of a community of people united under the values of interdependence, mutual prosperity and universal values, all problems can be solved. Peace can only be achieved with God at the Center of the Universe.
As the leaders of this world, let us bring back humankind from the self-centeredness, the extreme nationalism, the excessive materialism of our corrupt organizations and institutions which have become so distant from Heaven. Let us seek the path where we include our Heavenly Parent in the daily lives of ourselves and our world. ''
