His Majesty King Harald V of Norway died on 28th August, 2026. The Universal Peace Federation conveys its condolences in connection with King Harald’s death.
The King meant a lot to Norway, both for the country and its people. He lived by the motto "Everything for Norway". The Norwegian people thanks King Harald for his lifelong committment to Norway.
For us in the Universal Peace Federation, we especially remember the reception at the Royal Palace when the South Korean dance group "The Little Angels Children's Folk Ballet of Korea" came to Norway on May 27th 2011, to thank the country and the Norwegian Korean War veterans for their support during the Korean War, 60 years earlier. Norway contributed during the war with a military field hospital NORMASH, treating more than 90.000 patients.
Together with the South Korean ambassador to Norway at the time, we met King Harald and Queen Sonja in the large banquet hall in the Royal Palace. Following the speeches and greetings, the Little Angels performed both Korean and Norwegian songs.
Listening to the Korean children singing Norwegian folk songs made a strong impression on the Royal Couple. They were very moved.
Finally, the Royal Couple greeted everyone and said "it was lovely".
The Universal Peace Federation is grateful for King Harald’s service to Norway and expresses its condolences to Queen Sonja and the rest of the Royal family.
